Too. LONG.

I painted these for my brother for his birthday, which is may 5th. I finished in December. This is why the date notation on the side of the shoe says, "April, May, and December '09". I feel bad about that, but I think they turned out so cool that it was worth it.

Make a Wish

I painted these while up at my uncle's cabin in Montana, a place that is very conducive to all kinds of creative pursuits.

Stay Away From Me Booty!

This is the other of the first two pairs at the children's hour. The origination of the idea of these shoes was that I bought them on ebay and they had been worn exactly one time, but they were slightly dirty so I put them in the washing machine, (nice thing about vans, you can do that) and when they came out, there was an odd faded parchment look to them, which covered right up but it was my inspiration.

POW!

This is the one of the first two pairs of shoes I painted to be put in a store in my area called the Children's hour.

Something Fishy

I painted these for the two, now three year old daughter of some friends of mine for Christmas. When I was asking my friend what I might put on them, she said she liked fish, and this immediately popped into my head. I really like how these turned out.

Tokyo Beware

Super Shredder

If I were ever a super hero, or a super villain, that would be my name. These are my shoes.

Yamzilla

Last year I nannied the son of a close family friend and since he had just turned one and would be walking soon, I thought it would be great to paint him some shoes for Christmas. Coincedentally, I overshot a little bit on sizing up for him, and he just turned two and will be wearing them probably in a couple of months. It's gonna be a good year.
